Explanation Of The Head Of Public Relations Of The Bali Police Regarding The Hoax News On The Beating Of Foreigners

BALI INDONESIA - The Bali Police represented by the Head of Public Relations Commissioner Pol Satake Bayu responded to the news of the robbery and abuse of a foreigner from Perth Australia on behalf of Lachlan Briam Hunt, which occurred on January 12, around 04.00 WITA in the Kuta area, which resulted in the victim being seriously injured because he was  beaten so brutally that he was treated at the BIMC Kuta Hospital, Tuesday (24/04/2023).

The Bali Police has dispatched a rapid response team to investigate and find facts, starting from evidence and witnesses on the ground about what actually happened to the foreigner.

Kombes Pol Satake Bayu as Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police emphasized that from the results of the investigation by the Bali Police team, through statements from witnesses who saw what happened to a foreigner from Perth Australia on behalf of Lachlan Briam Hunt, who claimed to have experienced robbery and abuse in the Kuta area.

Lachlan Briam Hunt stated,
that the person concerned was suspected of having had a single traffic accident (Out Control), because at that time the person concerned was driving under a heavily drunk condition.

From the testimony of witnesses at the crime scene. Muhsar Hadi, address Jl. Poppies 1 Kuta, explained that the foreigner at around 04.00 WITA was driving a red Honda Vario motorbike at high speed, it was estimated that the foreigner was heavily drunk and when he passed speed bumps (road bumps) the motorbike he was driving swerved and caused the foreigner to fall in a prone position and faint. Then at around 04.30 WITA the foreigner woke up with a face full of blood and then immediately left.

Based on the results of the interrogation by the Bali Police team with a foreigner from Perth Australia on behalf of Lachlan Briam Hunt, he admitted that on 12 January 2023 at 22.00 WITA Lachlan Briam Hunt left from Hotel Masa Inn Bali Jl. Poppies Lane 1 Kuta, where he was staying, headed to the Engine Room with his friends on a Honda Vario motorbike to have a drink until they finished and went home early in the morning around 03.30 WITA, on the way home he felt his cellphone had fallen, when he tried to pick up his cellphone he felt pushed by an unknown person, then the victim no longer remembers what happened, because the victim was very drunk.

Lachlan Briant Hunt admitted that he did not know who made him viral when he was robbed and abused.

From the results of the interim investigation by the Bali Police team, Head of Public Relations Kombes Pol Satake Bayu said that a foreigner from Perth Australia on behalf of Lachlan Briam Hunt, was suspected of having had a single accident (OC) because the victim was driving while heavily drunk and no elements of robbery were found.

After coordinating with the Bali Police immigration authorities to secure the foreigner to the Bali Police to follow up on the basis of his actions, the foreigner apologized publicly by making a statement/confession that was actually chronological. For the time being we are waiting for the results of the Bali Police investigation, said Satake Bayu to media crew.
