MAGELANG – Central Java Regional Police – Central Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General. Pol. Drs. Ahmad Luthfi, S.St.Mk., S.H., led the 2023 Semester 1 Operational Event for the Central Java Regional Police at the Paramount Grand Ballroom of the Atria Hotel Magelang, Monday (11/9/2023).
This activity was attended by the Main Officer (PJU) of the Central Java Regional Police as well as all the Police Chiefs and unit heads (kasat) within the Central Java Regional Police.
In his remarks, the Central Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General. Pol. Drs. Ahmad Luthfi, emphasized the importance of the readiness of Central Java Regional Police personnel in securing the situation ahead of the 2024 General Election which is approaching.
The Regional Police Chief gave directions regarding security strategies, handling potential vulnerabilities, as well as the importance of synergy between the police and other agencies in securing elections.
“This Opnal event is to evaluate the performance of the Central Java Regional Police, including aligning plans for future activities by involving relevant stakeholders, such as the KPU and Bawaslu,” he said.
During the operational event, the Central Java Regional Police Chief also appreciated the Police with the best performance and warned the Police whose performance was not optimal.
The Regional Police Chief added that his party had also formed a Cyber Task Force to carry out patrols in cyberspace to anticipate hoax news.
He said members of the cyber task force continue to monitor cyber activities ahead of the political year of the 2024 election.
The members of the cyber task force, explained the Regional Police Chief, come from a number of functions between the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) and Central Java Regional Police Public Relations with Virtual Police activities.
“The cyber crime task force was alerted to anticipate the spread of fake news in cyberspace which could worsen the atmosphere in society,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Bawaslu for Central Java Province, Muhammad Amin, explained that several areas in 7 districts/cities had a high Election Vulnerability Index (IKP).
Whether the IKP level is high or low in each region, it is the responsibility of all of us to increase our vigilance in monitoring and making the 2024 elections and simultaneous elections a success.
“We are currently carrying out Bawaslu’s efforts by means of outreach to the public and increasing cooperation between relevant stakeholders in stages in participating in overseeing and making the elections and simultaneous elections 2024 a success,” he concluded.
